I disagree but that is understandable reasoning. Though I'd argue that the fact there is no real plot and a complete focus on the character interactions is the main appeal of CGDCT shows! That pure enjoyment of the mundanity of life and the people around you. And though its not the focus, in nichijou's case its the comedy, in a way its just a very subtle kind of storytelling which I find great joy in. I also think the general feel good happy nature of these shows is valuable in itself. I don't think a show necessarily needs to have a deep profound message to be good.
And yeah Kimura is a freak-

You analysis of girls' last tour is spot on and I completely agree that it uses the CGDCT framing well as a literary device and it enhances the themes of the story extremely effectively! I'd say Nichijou uses the CGDCT framing equally effectively just in a different way. Instead of it being there to enhance the themes of the show its there to enhance the comedy! Nichijou thrives on unexpected and absurdist humor coming from this standard high school environment and the fact that it is this slice of life show makes it all the funnier when they break from that. But humor is obviously subjective and though I may find immense joy and humor in the show for various reasons you may not for those same reasons. People are different and that's totally cool.

Dropped for the humor, and because its CGDCT Slice of Life without a plot.

I rate comedies on humor. Did not crack a smile, so low score. Sometimes there are more complicated reasons. Like the teacher from Azumanga Daioh actively being the catalyst of the low score and dropping. But no, here its simple, simply falls short as a comedy.

The substanceless CGDCT compounds the rating, though CGDCT can absolutely be pulled off as a successful literary device. For example, Girl's Last Tour uses it as a perfect tool of contrast. Cute girls, grimdark atmosphere. It is also actively used as a literary device for the main point of the story. That even at the lowest point of your life (total armageddon), you can and should still find happiness in the little things in life. That's a beautiful message anyone can grow from. So it gets a high rating. The cuteness has something profound to say. And in Nichijou, as far as I can see, the cuteness has nothing profound to say.

Its really interesting seeing you give Nichijou such a low when dropping it after one episode! Im curious what drove you away from it. Was the humor just not to your taste? O3O
It’s time to ditch the text file.
