This is like taking a gold watch and giving it to a child with a sharpie.

They took a very interesting concept such as a high schooler with a super power trying to take back his honor as an exiled member of royalty, just to turn it into a soap opera, where the most interesting concepts are forgotten, and the most childish ones are exalted. The setting of the plot is so interesting. Japan conquered by Britain? That setting is apocalyptic almost, yet Code Geass give us a brief history lesson, just so it can later submerge us in layers of vanity. We never get to ... know what Area 11 *really looks like*, and what the true aftermath really was. And honestly, I couldnt care LESS about the schoolmates. Like bro if Lelouch doesnt give a shit about who does the homework WHY SHOULD I? And the cat episode? That was the epitome of unnecessary.

When we start to get some lore about the Geass and the green haired chick, the writers suddenly scrap all those lore hints off, pat us in the back and whisper to our ears "that will be next season 😏 now back to the high school drama! Also concepts like the geass are so easily wasted. We see Mao, an interesting antagonist, but the typical easy-antagonist that precedes the more serious one. After Mao we dont get that more serious antagonist, nor we get to see anyone else who has the power of the Geass.

And all the lesbo melodrama? The exact moment I stopped watching was when the 4 eyed bitch started crying to princess Euphy about how ugly she was. I just paused and asked. This is the anime about the royalty kid trying to take back the throne with his intricate plan? This is the anime about the opressed japanese taking back their honour? This is the anime of the royalty trying to kill each other for power? This is the anime of the guy who wants to be king but regrets it after he realizes he has to fuck everyone in his way? What happened to that? If there is a part 2 i'll most likely watch a summary because i am not wasting my time anymore with the soap opera shit.

Best initial plot of all time, worst execution without a doubt

Angel Cop is an overhated anime within the wokesphere, but some of the criticisms it faces are quite valid. The problem with Angel Cop is lack of contuinity, character development, and depth of the plot. But not because the skeletal idea is poor, it's the lack of space to get comfortable what kills this anime.

It's often criticized for it's "antisemitism" but I found it to be quite an interesting plot point, that unfortunately never went deep enough. Plus, the character design most of the time is just so cool, the animation is very good too. The only problem is that characters don't have enough time ... to naturally go from one thing to another, everything feels sped up due to the lack of budget. 24 episodes would have done the original idea some justice. And a 2nd season where Angel blows up the Wall of Lamentations? Don't get me started.

It's very short, so if you want something cool to watch while you play guitar, 100% would recommend.

Paranoia Agent: the best anime to adjust your glasses to

This is a must NOT watch by any means, not because it's *horrible* , but because the ending is extremely bad, poor and disappointing. Story begins with artist Tsukiko creating a kawaii dog character called Maromi, which becomes a commercial hit, then she is attacked with a baseball bat wielded by a kid wearing rolling blades, who the media will go on to call "Shonen Bat". After that event, a series of non-developing stories combined with snail-paced dialogues take place. Every episode features a different character, who goes through dire straits just to not solve their ... problem, and their arc to be left on hold. Now if you like adjusting your glasses too much you will say this is an example of real life being unresolving at times, but this is just a mediocre excuse mediocre people come up to cope with incompetence and failure.

I'll spoil the ending because it is NOT worth watching till the end. When Tsukiko was a child, she had a dog called Maromi who got hit by a car when she dropped the leash. Then she made up a fake story saying that a kid wearing rolling blades attacked her and her dog with a bat. Yes, that is the super-mega-deep-adjusting-2-pair-of glasses-at-the-same-time explanation you get to the ENTIRETY of the series. If this is a "metaphor", it's a horrible one, not only is it horrible but it doesn't make sense. No matter how much you adjust your glasses, the story is unresolving, and saying it's "mysterious" is not a good excuse.

And on top of all that, the characters are so unrelatable and unlikable. Think of the opposite of Urasawa's Monster. Instead of every little character being interesting and compelling, every character, including the MC have the least likeable personalities possible, and even lesser interesting backstories. I don't want to spend a second more thinking about this anime, ever again in my life.

PS.: legend says that if at 3:00 am you adjust your glasses 80.678 times, the writer will appear in front of you, adjust his glasses and finally explain what on earth the old guy writing equations actually means.
