- Both have a very strong magician as the main character that isn't (fully) aware of just how strong s/he is and can cast magic with no incantations;
- Both have little to no fanservice compared to other newer fantasy anime and instead have a possible romance that isn't too into the main focus of the plot;
- Both have the main character making genuine connections and building friendships with side characters of the same gender
As a personal opinion I liked how both of them have overpowered MCs but don't just feel like an undiluted fantasy of the author starring their own self-insert.
