The Anime does a piss poor job at explaining literally anything. You're going to have a hard time trying to figure out what the plot for this is because it doesn't really explain it at all other than a news broadcaster saying a monster has appeared. That's all there is to really take away from this one. It goes from scene to scene at such a fast pace that I felt like I was watching a heavily condensed movie on TikTok or something
The animation was also pretty ass for 99% of it, most of the character designs were fine but it was mostly ass. The anime aired in 2004 according to MAL which for context, some others that also aired in 2004 was Bleach, Elfen Lied, Howl's Moving Castle and School Rumble. When I was watching Skelter Heaven I honestly thought it was an 80s anime but I was shocked to see this was released in the same year as some of the big names in anime. Even Naruto, a show that came out in 2002 was visually way better.
Skelter I feel does have potential to be something decent, but it's over shadowed by the pacing and the pretty ass story. I may be biased because I don't tend to like Mecha anime. I can't really think of any that I have enjoyed so far. It's why I dropped Darling in the Franxx because I plain didn't like it. This one kept my attention, but it failed to be interesting. If the pace wasn't so bad, I may have liked it. Also the random love confession from Rin at the end was so unnecessary and just came out of nowhere. It did nothing for the plot, she just randomly said it.
Not sure what they were trying to do with Skelter Heaven, not even sure they knew themselves. Just another forgettable anime to add to the list I suppose
