Worldbuilding is "the art of creating a new fictional world". Not only for characters to interact with each other, but to interact with everything around them. Imagine its history, culture and mores of your imaginary land, and how characters interact with different religious, ethnic groups, culture, landscape, and so on.

Thats the magic of worldbuilding.
