Tensei Shitara Simp Datta - Reincarnated as a Simp
The story starts with a kid who falls for a girl for no real reason other than “she’s cute.” He gets rejected, but instead of moving on, he starts simping hard. The girl keeps him around for some unclear reason that has nothing to do with empathy or acting like a decent person.

People are full of contradictions, but usually for a reason, and this show does very little to justify how the MC becomes powerful enough to defeat dragons while conserving an absolute fear of other people.
Usually power and self confidence come from the same journey of self improvement. This is beautifully represented in Mushoku Tensei, where the MC gradually gets stronger and opens up to others. I watched the last 10 episodes in one go, and, wow, I regret it. I could not sleep that night and the next day I couldn't stop thinking about it. If I had to describe this show in one word: painful.
The show follows the theory of heliocentrism in the 15th century Poland (a few years before Copernicus) and it is absolutely filled with tragedy. In both quantity and quality it is probably the most tragic thing I've seen or read in recent years, and every time it hits it does so very hard. Aim for the stars, shoot your foot.
A good cook can create a unique dish with few simple ingredients, this show does the opposite, using many extravagant tropes to create a boring already seen story. The premise is fun, but the show slowly forgets about it as it becomes a generic rom com. Characters are pure distilled clichés: laid-back genius, tsundere, obsessed imouto, popular girl; they all interact exactly how you'd expect. Lastly, the art and animation are pathetic, low level even for a romance anime, it's always still frames and they mess up perspectives more often than not, which hurts my brain. I am about to finish my 7th re-watch, and I feel like I need to write a review:
The show is a very relaxing slice of life, with some tense moments and a strong sense of progression. There are cliches, but there's no shortage of original things either (I won't be a spoiler, but some are very unusual for anime). Characters are well written, not very deep, but consistent, and their growth is always achieved with few very effective skits, which is way more difficult to do than using long (boring) narratives. Too many irons in the fire
The Russian flirt, the mysterious childhood friend, the sister flirt, the powerful family interfering (with ninjas lol), the student council election. I wouldn't be surprised if they get isekaied to a fantasy world next. The author probably wanted to make the story progressively more complex, but clearly something went wrong, every new element that gets presented doesn't fit the tone up to that point and comes off as weird and unnecessary. Moreover every new situation is introduced without fully resolving the previous one, killing the sense of progression of the plot. The art and animation are good enough for a school comedy, ...

Imagine going to computer science and pretend to write novels. Even if you're the best novelist ever, it still makes no sense.
Just like in Mashle, a kid without magic powers attends a magic school, however there are subtle differences. First, the protagonist doesn't try to hide the fact that he cannot use magic, yet he is allowed into the school because "it is fun" (a.k.a. lazy writing), and, most importantly, the show takes itself way too seriously. No one in their right mind should ever copy Arifureta, yet they did, and managed to make it worse.
I remember laughing hysterically at the first dragon in Arifureta, but the truth is that even the worst CG you can get used to. Not this time tho, this one is painful, as the PS2 level CG is alternated with some good hand-drawn frames, as a constant reminder that you are watching a terrible show. The characters don't help either, everything is very confused, the same backstory is told five times, but each time differently. No one seems to make sense, and it all feels like a mess of ...

It is bad,
the story is that of any trashy isekai anime, same goes for the character designs and the animation is bad too, however, once I got past episode 1, I was pleasantly surprised. It is obvious they were on a budget, but they almost always manage to stay within their means, avoiding flashy stuff and using many tricks to make fights easier to animate, without resorting to ugly cg. The result isn't a masterpiece but a respectable anime with good timings, good flow, that is overall enjoyable (except for episode 1, that's very trash, I don't know what they were thinking).

This show is a big giant meeting, everyone explains things over and over again, and episodes end with hooks to fool you into thinking that something will happen in the next one.
