(How to play will be explained in the next post)

General

  • Only post Sign-Up/Turn-in Forms in this thread.
    All other posts go in the Challenge Discussion thread.
  • Please do not delete your post after signing up; it messes up the rest of the posts/links.
    If you want to withdraw, please replace your post content with "Withdrawn" or leave it as is.
  • Please carefully read the rules, "How to Play" guide, and FAQ before asking questions.

Sign-Up Forms

  • Your sign-up form must be posted in this thread for you to be considered a challenge participant.
  • Each manga can only be used once within the challenge.
  • You must read at least the last 5 volumes or 50 chapters (if not physically published) of the manga you choose to use for the challenge (if you're not reading it in its entirety) during the challenge period.
    If the manga is still being published, read until the most recently published chapter.
  • Manga, Manhua, Manhwa, One-shots & Doujinshi are allowed.
  • Light Novels and Novels are not allowed.
  • Re-reading is allowed.
  • Please specify the dates you started/completed each manga in the sign-up form.

Turn-In Forms

  • Once you have completed the challenge, use the turn-in form and post it as a new reply.
  • Turn-ins should be posted once and they shouldn't be deleted afterwards.
  • Confirm all items/details are correct before posting. Once you turn-in your challenge, you can't continue working on it.

Forms

  • You can change your form freely until you turn-in.
  • Only one form can be worked on at a time.
  • Only your first completed attempt will be added to the list of participants who completed the challenge.
  • For posted forms that are unreadable or missing much of the required information, you will be asked to fix this before we proceed with the inspection.
  • Use a readable font size/color.
  • More info about the challenge in the "How to Play" guide.

How to Play the Manga Reading Challenge!

This year's challenge will be tarot-themed.
  • Tarot is a set of playing cards used in tarot games. They are often used in fortune-telling or divination.
  • Here you will choose a number of six-itemed tarot cards representing the major arcana.
  • To finish the challenge, you need to complete the amount of cards required for your chosen difficulty.

Signing Up
  1. Go to the Sign Up Code post, copy the provided code in its entirety, and paste it as a new reply to this thread.

  2. Edit your post to replace the capitalized text with your information.

  3. The following fields should be filled in now: Link to your list and Completed Manga.

  4. Choose a difficulty based on the number of cards you want to complete (and the number of manga you want to read)
    　　Seer: 3 cards, 18 items;　Scholar: 6 cards, 36 items;　Oracle: 9 cards, 54 items;　Diviner: 12 cards, 72 items

  5. Edit your post to fill in your chosen difficulty.
    This can be changed later.

  6. (optional) Grab a participant banner from our Banners List and show it off on your profile/forum signature.

    DATE is when you started/finished each manga.
    ID_NUM is found in the manga entry's URL. MANGA_TITLE is the main title of the entry.

  2. Continue completing challenge items until you have enough for your given difficulty. Remember, each manga can only be used once.

  3. Each tarot card has six items associated with it. You must complete ALL six items on each card chosen. Partially completed cards do not count. You may not mix and match items on different cards.

  4. The items do not need to be completed in any specific order, but it is easier to plan ahead of time what you're going to read. You can work on multiple cards at the same time.

  5. If you use a title other than the main title, please add it between parenthesis after the main title.

Turning In
  1. Once all your items are completed, verify that all information in your sign-up form is filled in.

  2. Copy and paste the following text into a new reply in this thread.

Challenge List with Explanations


  • Screenshots are suggested as evidence for some items which require information that could change by the time/after you turn-in.
  • The provided suggestions are manga that we approved to be valid.
    You can still choose to use titles not tagged with the required elements at your own risk.
    If it isn't apparent based on cover/description/character description, you may provide some sort of proof for it (for easier inspection).
    That goes for info (like age, etc.) that might not be apparent, as well.
  • MRC Staff Jokers: Jokers are staff's picks you can use in your challenge as a "wild card". A joker does NOT need to fulfill the requirement, it is always valid.
    The amount of jokers you have available depend on the difficulty chosen.
    (Seer : 1 Joker, Scholar : 2 Jokers, Oracle : 3 Jokers, Diviner : 4 Jokers)
    Leave them under MRC Staff Jokers in your form, and delete the ones you didn't read when turning in.
    However: You don't have to use them as wild cards (and thus a replacement).
    If you want to read and fit them into a requirement, you can read as many of them as you want and the restriction above won't apply in this case.
